Taking a person’s life as a form of punishment is definitely a very serious issue that many states and countries around the world are still debating until now. The first advantage of capital punishment is that it can help decrease the crime rate of the area. Because capital punishment is a serious penalty, people can be more aware of the law in the country and they will be more attuned to following the law. This type of punishment also has disadvantages and one of them is its violation of human rights. Human rights advocates are very vocal on their campaign against capital punishment or death penalty.
